What to Say on Straightening up From The Rukuu’ Position

What to Say on Straightening up From The Rukuu’ Position

As you raise your head up from the Rukuu’ position, you should say:  /sami’al-laahu  liman  hamidah/

Translation

(Allah hears whoever praises Him).

Once straightened up, you should say:  /rabbanaa  wa-lakal-hamd/

Translation

(Our Lord! To You all praise is due).

You could say:

/rabbanaa  wa-lakal-hamd(u),  hamdan  katheeran  Tayyibam-mubaaran  feeh/

Translation

(Our Lord! To You belongs all praise that is great, good and blessed).

To this you can add:

/mil-as-samaawaati  wal-arD(i),  wa-mil-a  maa  shi’ta  min  shai-imba’d

Translation

(As much praise as the fill of the heavens, the earth, and everything else You wish).

You can also add if you wish:

/ahluth-thanaa-i-wal-majd(i),  ahaqqu  maa  qaalal-abd(u),  wa-kulluna  laka  abd/  alaahumma  laa  mani’a  lima  a’Taita,  wa-laa  mu’Tiya  lima  mana’t(a),  wa-laa  yanfa’u  dal-jaddi  minkal-jadd/

Translation

(You are worthy of praise, glory and the most truthful words a slave can ever say, and we are all Your slaves. O Allah! None can prevent what You bestow, nor can anyone bestow what You prevent. No fortune can be of benefit to its possessor against Allah’s Fortune).

The minimum you can say is:

 /rabbanna  wa-lakal-hamd/

Translation

(O Our Lord! To You all praise is due).
