What to Say When things Done Cannot Be Undone
When something happens to you, and
as it cannot be undone, you should say:
/qaddaral-laah(u), wa-maa
shaa-a fa’al/
Translation
(Allah has ordained it, and whatever
He wills He does).
The Prophet said, “If a harm befalls
you, do not say, ‘If I had done such and such a thing, the result would have
been different.’ Such hypothesizing opens the door for Satan’s work. You should
say [instead], ‘Allah has ordained it, and whatever He wills He does.’
